Discord Notifications for Your League

Bring your WWZ Battle Royale league to life with automatic Discord notifications!

As a league organizer, you can connect your league to a Discord channel so your community gets instant updates when games are created, started, and completed. It's like having a dedicated announcer for your league!

What You'll Get

When you set up Discord notifications for your league, your Discord channel will automatically receive:

  • 🎮 New Game Created - When someone creates a game in your league
  • ▶️ Game Started - When a league game begins (with a Watch Live link!)
  • 💀 Kill Notifications - Real-time updates when players are eliminated
  • 🏁 Game Ended - When a game concludes, complete with winner information

Each notification includes: - Clickable links to view the game - Player counts and game details - Your league logo displayed prominently - The Game Creator's name

Note: Only games created in your league will send notifications. Regular games without a league won't trigger any Discord messages.

How to Set It Up

Setting up Discord notifications is easy! You'll need to be an admin or moderator on your Discord server.

Step 1: Create a Discord Webhook

  1. Open your Discord server
  2. Go to Server Settings (gear icon)
  3. Click Integrations in the left sidebar
  4. Click Webhooks
  5. Click New Webhook
  6. Give it a name like WWZ League Notifications
  7. Select which channel notifications should appear in (we recommend creating a dedicated #league-games channel)
  8. Click Copy Webhook URL - you'll need this in a moment!

Step 2: Add the Webhook to Your League

  1. Go to your league page on WWZ Battle Royale
  2. Click Edit League (only league owners see this button)
  3. Scroll down to the Discord Webhook URL field
  4. Paste the webhook URL you copied from Discord
  5. Click Update League

That's it! You're done! 🎉

Step 3: Test It Out

Create a test game in your league (or have someone else create one). You should see a notification appear in your Discord channel within seconds!

Tips for Community Leaders

Create a Dedicated Channel We recommend creating a separate #league-games or #game-announcements channel just for these notifications. This keeps them organized and easy to find!

Kill Notifications Can Be Frequent During active games, you'll receive a notification for each elimination. This creates exciting play-by-play action for spectators! If your channel gets too busy, you can mute it and just check in periodically.

Multiple Leagues? Each league can have its own webhook! You can: - Send all leagues to one channel, OR - Create separate channels for different leagues/seasons

League Branding Make sure your league has an image/logo uploaded! It will be displayed prominently in all Discord notifications, making them look professional and on-brand.

Hype Your Games These notifications are perfect for building excitement! Players can see when games are being created and jump in, and spectators can click Watch Live to follow the action in real-time. The kill notifications especially add a sports-commentator feel to your league!

Troubleshooting

I'm not seeing notifications - Make sure the game was created in your league (games without a league won't send notifications) - Verify the webhook URL is correct in your league settings - Check that the Discord webhook hasn't been deleted in Discord - Ensure the bot has permission to post in the channel

The images aren't showing - Images require your site to be publicly accessible on the internet - If you're running a local development server, Discord won't be able to fetch the images - This works automatically on your production site!

I want to change which channel notifications go to - Go back to Discord Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks - Find your WWZ webhook and edit the channel - No need to update anything on the WWZ site!
